"Have I been a wilderness to You?"

asked the Lord.

"A place of wandering

and of darkness

as the night?"

No---

It is this void

in which I find myself.

This is my wilderness,

my place of wandering

in darkness and in fog.

You are light

and life.

All I long for,

all I need,

is You.

How can we walk together

once again?

How can I know You, Lord,

as once I knew?

And He

through the echoing of my empty heart replied,

"I shall be waiting for you

at the very spot

you left My side."
